Anticorrosive wood is the use of ordinary wood after soaking in a chemical preservative solution or high-pressure penetration to make it have the characteristics of anti-corrosion, moisture-proof, anti-fungal, insect-proof, anti-mildew and waterproof. Common domestic preservative wood materials are Russian pine, Nordic pine or domestic ordinary pine and fir. In addition, there is also a kind of carbonized anticorrosive wood, in which the effective nutrients of the wood are carbonized at a high temperature to achieve the purpose of anticorrosion by blocking the nutrient chain for the survival of decaying bacteria.
Plastic wood refers to the use of polypropylene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride and other plastics, instead of the usual adhesives, and more than 35%-70% natural plant fiber powder mixed and extruded composite materials.
So, why is it said that plastic wood is more antiseptic, mildew and moisture proof than anticorrosive wood?
First, the density of plastic wood materials is 1.2-1.3g/cm³, while the density of conventional wood used for preservative wood is only 0.4-0.5g/cm³; the loose fiber structure of preservative wood makes it easy to absorb moisture in the natural environment , The long-term moisture content will cause mold to grow in a short time, and produce swelling, cracking, moldy and blackening; and the plastic wood material has a compact structure, and the density is about three times that of conventional anticorrosive wood, almost completely Without absorbing the moisture in the natural environment, without the nourishment of moisture, there is no living environment for mold.
Second, plastic-wood materials are made by fusion and extrusion of thermoplastics and natural wood fibers at high temperatures. The materials contain no moisture or nutrients. Natural bacteria are also wiped out during high-temperature processing, which is completely unsuitable for bacterial growth. ; Plastic-wood material has dense intermolecular structure and hard surface, which is not suitable for insects and ants. The anti-corrosion wood is just the opposite. Its loose structure and easy absorption of water make it a high-nutrient breeding base for bacteria, and the softness of the fiber also makes it more vulnerable to insects, ants, and rodents.
